I was just woken by an earthquake.

That was so friggin' weird.

Edit: It was a 5.4, centered near Olney, Illinois. Leave a comment

Are you still in Nashville? Because I could have sworn I was feeling one earlier (my bed shook), but I thought it was either a) my window air conditioner, which is right next to it, and very loud and conceivably could make it feel similarly, or b) my large self. However, it's never quite done that before, so hmm.

Yep, still in Nashville. It was strong enough to be felt in Alabama and North Carolina....

Yes, we're just fine. It wasn't a HUGE earthquake (it was just downgraded to a 5.2 magnitude quake), just shook things up a bit.

It was just weird to feel one that strong where we are.

I never felt an earthquake in my life. I was born is a city built over solid granite, very far away from any geological disturbances that might cause an earthquake, so the thing is quite a mystery to me! XD

I am glad everything is ok!

5.4? S'nothing if you're home. Just ride it out and enjoy the motion. *grins* Bay Area Baby, earthquakes are a part of life.

(sounds like you and everyone are okay via the comments. Hope it wasn't too much of a fright and nothing was damaged!)
