CAMP CAMP CAMP!

Huzzah for greatness! So some friends and I are planning a super epic adventure camping trip sometime in late August or September, so here's my question. I haven't gone camping since I lived up in Lodi (NorCal) I don't know ANY campgrounds in Orange County or near the OC. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

There's stuff up in the mountains between LA and the AV... Los Angeles forest stuffs.

Look at Big Bear and stuff like that....Mt Baden Powell is in that area, and other stuff :/

Oh Big Bear! I forgot about that! Hm, I heard there was one over by Dana Point, I think I'll check that one out too. Hey! When are you coming back into the OC? You and Leslie can come with if you want to! ^_^

We're moving back into the dorms on september 1st.
It sounds like fun, but it all depends on work schedules and school workloads :/

depends on the what kind of camping you want to do. There is a nice little campground in newport beach that has a little bay for swiming and renting paddle boats and nice parks and you can rent bikes to ride around in. My family used to go there all the time and its a nice fun place, but its not exactly the type of place to go if you want to be out the wild. More so for the casual camper, who also like that they could drive out and go to fashion island if they wanted to, or drive a bit farther and go to balboa pier and the beach(you can actually bike there from the campground in about 30 min to an hour if you know the way)

There some camping places over by Dana Point which is about 30 mins away from irvine. If not you can always come up to the Central Coast and go camping over at Montana De Oro which is pretty close to my house : P
