Books I have read, December 2008

Feb 28, 2009 20:37

Churning through them tonight...

118. The Lies of Locke Lamora, Scott Lynch. Squeee! Probably the funnest fantasy novel I've read in a very long time. Great stuff, plots within plots, cheekiness, friendship, betrayal, brilliance. I've got the second book, but no time to read it (argh!).

119. Virtual Destruction, Kevin J. Anderson & Doug Beason. ( Read more... )

books, master list, reading

I knocked over Locke Lamora by Monday evening. And then was delighted to find that there's a second - evidently not a sequel, as such, but "more adventures". YAY!

I shall post it back to you, unless you can wait until May for its return.

If book 2 is collecting dust, I'm _sure_ I can give it a happy place for a week ... ;)

I duly closed my eyes during the erky bits (well, skimmed past) - thanks for the warning - but loved the rest :)

I can wait until May. If you're here the first weekend, come to Miss Boo's birthday party!

And, yes, I've got the second Locke Lamora book too, "Red Sails Under Red Skies" or something. I've started it twice, but had to put it to one side because of bookcrossing reads I simply MUST read first. (Wah!) Mr TQD's read it, and can't wait until I get around to it. I'm sure there's a third in the pipeline somewhere. But I'll get it read and we'll do some sort of swap in May.
