Ok so I read your posts (some of them at least) and I think I may just start reading them more often when you post more. I like them...you bring up very good points in them (especially the VA hospital one. I know all about that shit because of what my grandfather went through when he had cancer last year). Anywho...yeah good stuff. Later

Uh... That's not a hate crime at all. Her sexual orientation has nothing to do with the article, and bringing it up is silly. She wasn't kicked out of the bathroom/restraunt because she was a lesbian; she was kicked out because she was mistaken for a man (which, actually, I can see how that mistake could happen). Her sexual orientation has NOTHING to do with it.

True, but sometimes you have to find some hook to get someone to read, and in a way, it can be taken AS a hate crime against her orientation, just by how she looks. The bouncer acted on "looks like a book" mentality instead of actually going through the motions such as actually checking her ID, which was offered multiple times. In addition, due to the fact that the restaurant owner will not, in fact, answer any questions regarding the situation, the owner is in a really tight spot as to it's political standpoint: I.e. He may lose business for making streamline news. That being said, Due to the fact that the group never actually got a chance to finish their meal AND made to pay for the full ticket, I'm sure that'll go over well in court.

I do think in many ways a lot of these things are taken a little too far, but also in retrospect, not enough is being done. Everyone can say "yes, there is progress being made," when it's about as clear as the Martin Luther King, jr Discussion. We never really made it to that dream and probably never
