[ There is a brief pause before Shelke addresses the topic he brings up, though the real reason why she called still weighs heavily on her mind. His voice puts her at ease, somehow. Though far from admitting it, the fact that he answered alone stills some of her anxieties. ]

Following the line of logic that machines are incapable of trust, it can be deducted that machines are also incapable of committing an absurdity such as placing trust in that which cannot be trusted.

How have you fared, Cloud Strife?

[ Shelke hesitates again, both at Cloud's attestation that neither of them are machines as well his following statement, which she recognizes as not a an outright lie but a steer around the subject. A half truth. She takes a moment to consider what it infers. It could be out of caution, because information is power and Cloud has every right not to trust her, but somehow she gets the feeling that there is more to it than that.
