Biggest injury to date

Today I feel awful. I'd say I feel like a horrible mother, but in reality I'm actually a pretty good mother so I won't cheapen that (though I often do by flippantly saying I'm a horrible mother). However, Lilian suffered an injury while on my watch. And it could have been prevented if I had been more careful, which makes it all the worse ( Read more... )

I don't mean to laugh at you--it's actually really sweet that you feel so bad, but really, you shouldn't. Kids play beyond their limits sometimes, and that means they get hurt. It wasn't your fault, and at the end of the day, her falling off the bed wasn't a big deal.

I know it's worthless to say "don't worry about it" because as a mother--a GREAT mother--it's the natural thing to do, but really, don't feel bad about it. I guarantee at some point down the road, you'll be laughing heartily about this.

If it makes you feel any better, I can't remember how many stories my mom has of me falling off her and dad's bed, or my sister or I conking our heads on coffee tables.

My little brother actually fell and punched his two front teeth through his lip, and he was totally fine. He was a winge, but he was fine.

Personally, I think the fact that you are feeling bad about it happening shows that you do care and that you are looking out for her. You're an awesome mommy. ^_^

But don't let it get you down!

Make sure you get her back on the bed and bouncing as soon as possible. :)
