Not My Dress Special Feature

Jul 28, 2009 15:44

Okay, so I have to admit I was tempted to skip out on the regular Tuesday posting of NMD if only because I wasn't able to post last week's until Saturday, but then thought better of it.

Instead, I'm bringing you a special feature new to NMD that I'm fondly referring to as No Wonder You're So Cheap!

Today's No Wonder You're So Cheap! Not My Dress ( Read more... )

It actually looks more like it could be a bridesmaid's dress. Not that it'd be my first option... *whistles* ;)

*snork* Love the 'Dress in Motion' feature. That's new. *eye roll* He he...

I certainly couldn't pull it off, being ... um ... 'gifted' in more areas than that model is. :P

PS - How many weeks were you planning to run this feature before we all get to vote on which one we think is the worst? ;)

That is a GREAT idea! Hadn't occurred to me, but now that you mention it, with the number of weeks remaining, it'd be easy to do one next week, one another 12-13 weeks later, one more and the put those three 'winners' head to head. :D Okay, next week!!

The seamstress in me has a lot more to add. Such as the back zipper is blatantly crooked. And the gathering right into the zipper is making the zipper not lie flat and it looks very amateurish. And that adding beaded lace in an arrow all the way down the front to your navel is not a good "design feature" on anybody. (And the way she's standing makes that look blatantly crooked too.) And that the side seams are also crooked, and when you zoom in you can see the fabric bunching up at the sides where apparently they forgot to iron while they were making it. And that the "satin yoryu" they made it out of is probably a fancy name for "cheap, unbreathable polyester made from the lowest quality of whatever stuff it is they use to make polyester (I think it's petroleum?)" And that the white gatherish type dress I made out of free stuff sitting in my basement in one day for my Cleopatra costume last winter that I never got to wear looks about ten times more professionally done than this dress. *deep breath* Ok, I'm done now.

*laughing so hard she's nearly hyperventilating*

Oh, that was AWESOME. Totally awesome. The Cleopatra costume really did me in.

I love you, smor; you know that?!

I think smor nailed it when she compared it to a costume she made in one day. I could see it used in a high school musical, but that's about it.
