They say memory's the first thing to go, really it's discussion of anything other than your health.

In 2005, I was diagnosed very late in life with scoliosis. I've been going to a chiropractor for regular adjustments about every 2 or 3 weeks since then. The adjustments really help! I don't believe in the "new age" side of chiropractic medicine. Adjustments have not cured my thyroid disease, and I don't believe they've prevented me catching common ( Read more... )

Good luck with the fertility specialist! Does your insurance cover that? When I had IVF, I thought I could only get one with the allotted $10,000 lifetime benefit, but at the rates insurance companies pay, I got three.

Neither my insurance nor Ian's covers any of it. We'll be paying entirely out of pocket -- something else that figures heavily in the entire consideration.

Thanks,
T.

That does make a difference. There is financing specifically for IVF, so maybe it won't be too bad. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you to find your way to motherhood one way or another.

And we will! Thank you. We figure that even though it's expensive, there is financing -- and the total cost for IVF is still probably less than the total cost for adoption -- outside the foster system, but that's a route we don't want to go. I hate that the money has to be a significant decision factor in here -- it shouldn't be. But as I don't have a spare $30,000 lying around in cash, it really is, and that's just how it is! One way or another, with patience, money, time, we'll work it out and get our grubby hands on a baby somehow! :)

I'm excited for your decision to raise children. It's frustrating and amazing at the same time.

You've reminded me that I need to go back to regular adjustments. I'm in pain all the time lately.

Oh, and I unlinked twitter to my LJ a while ago.

We've been trying to conceive for awhile, justw ith no luck. The decision for kids isn't new -- just the decision to involve science in the process. :)

So you are going to go back to getting the adjustments now, right? It's right there in keeping with the advice you give yourself on seeing a fertility specialist.

Speaking of which, good luck with that. If the old fashioned method isn't working, you may as well try something else... which isn't to say you can't keep trying the old fashioned method.

Weight loss! Go Trace! Good nutrition! Go Trace! Exercise! Go Trace! Yay! That's about all the pep you're getting out of me. Anything else is approching exercise. Ick. :-p

Good luck with the raise.

Not bad for a pep talk! :) traceroo October 25 2012, 15:25:14 UTC
That was pretty good, thank you! I love pep talks! :)

And the raise went great! 8% and 2,000 more stock options -- I'm really delighted!

Have you ever considered getting an inversion table to help with your back? They're not for everyone, and might not be beneficial to your condition, but we have one and I use it on occasion. I sometimes have hip compression issues and this really helps. We got a brand new one off ebay for about $90.

Ian has often suggested this to me. The words "ass over tea kettle" come to mind whenever I consider it! :)
