You haven't heard from me in a week because I've been among the unliving.

Last Tuesday night, my throat was on fire, and I slept terribly in pain. I resolved to go to urgent care first thing Wednesday morning. I thought I had strep -- and I'm one of those people that gets strep if anybody within 50 miles of me gets it. I've had strep approximately

Boo, viral...Unfortunately I am pretty sure that it was that same virus that ate my weekend, and has me out of work tonight. Thank heavens for good otc drugs that are helping make things less uncomfortable!

That's very odd that they said it was strep and caused by a virus. When I had a nasty case of strep a while back, I researched and read that strep is short for streptococcus, which is a bacteria. I was on strong antibiotics for a couple of weeks. Viral strep... that doesn't make sense. Maybe you had both?

Anyway, I hope your ear gets back to full functioning level soon.

I may have missed putting in a "not" in there somewhere. It was definitely not strep. My sore throat was caused by a virus.

Looking back, I obviously misread it! Sorry about that. I tend to transpose words and make up my own sentences that aren't there. Funny thing is, I'll read it the same way several times to make sure I got it right before commenting... and then it will turn out it said something totally different all along!
