It seems that the person I wrote of in the previous entry doesn't like the Celtic deities.
On July 4 2007, she posted to the wiccan community here some comments about them.
And the fur flew when she said they were evil.
And not only did the fur fly when she said they were evil, but she also asked a question - "who is your face deity?"
NO ONE in that community had any idea what a "face deity" was.
So she then called someone a "newbie" in most arrogant fashion.
What a complete arrogant twat. Or, as Joe likes to say, "What a STEW-PYD TWOT!"
That's his way of making fun of people who spell words in crazy ways, like "majik" or "magique" or "maagik" or whatever.
Same with "womyn" or "wimmin" or variations on THAT abomination of the noble English language.
Beyond that....ok, sure, tell a Celtic recon that his deities are evil.
Your ass will get kicked so hard, you'll be wearing your toenails as earrings.
Tell a Norseman that his deities are evil, and more of the same will ensue.
Geez.
It's just more of the fluffy crap. "Oh, I want my God and Goddess to be always sweet and loving and cuddly and with lots of faeries and rainbows and nothing bad ever happens! Not even a paper cut!"
No thanks. Our world has challenges in it for a reason.
Well, given that she is just like Dr. Carol Christ and doesn't like any deities of warfare....what did I expect?? I suppose that she, like many other Wiccans (not that she is a Wiccan - remember, she's too terrified to be initiated), will say that because my boyfriend is an Odinsman, and because my boyfriend is a former US Army soldier who WOULD don a uniform and reach for the M-60 machine gun to this day if his country called on him to do so, he is nothing more than a brainless butcher.
Same with my grandfather who served as a captain in the US Navy in WWII - she'd say he too was a butcher. And every other person in my family on both sides who served in the military.
Fine. If that's the way she feels, if she doesn't appreciate the services of those who WILL stand in harm's way to protect her and her rights to do and be what she is - then let THEM stand aside so SHE can do it herself.
She'll appreciate their holy sacrifice damn quick if she herself put her own ass on the line, that's for sure.
Anyway...given how this chick freaked out just READING about initiation - and given that she thinks the Greek deities are "more Godly" - and given her irrational hatred of Celtic deities - I think she'd be better of just being some form of Christian.
I left a note on that entry she wrote, and I'm sure she's going to march right over here and tell me to fuck off. Like that's really intelligent.
Don't waste your breath, fluffy. Go play with your faeries, or go take a nap and keep dreaming that you're some kind of princess.
Leave the rest of us to FEARLESSLY and PASSIONATELY love and dance with the Celtic Gods (the Gods of my people, after all, seeing as how I am of Scottish and Irish and Gaulish descent, among other things).
See, this is what she doesn't realize. They know Their own. They are part of the Celtic oversoul, as it were. It's exactly like members of an extended family. Between the Celtic divine powers and the Nordic ones, I feel perfectly comfortable with both, because they ARE like family to me. They're such an intimate part of my life I can't imagine not having them there. And I know they were an intimate part of the lives of my ancestors, just as the very land itself was.
Land, sea and sky.
What a pity she'll miss out on that family feeling. Too bad.
