Here I am!
And I have a new kitty!
Meet Gustav!
He is a rescue kitty; one of my coworkers found him on her rooftop during Tropical Storm Fay. "Gustav" was the name of the next hurricane on the list, so I chose that name for him. I also chose it because it is the name of a Swedish king, Gustavus II Adolphus.
He is about 3-4 months old, he's quite lively, and just a completely delightful feline companion.
There's been some health issues around here lately: Joe found out he has high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He tried to quit smoking but it hasn't worked out. He gets as far as 2 weeks, then collapses. Never having been a smoker, I don't know anything about this addiction. I'm told it is a stronger addiction than even HEROIN.
That's insane! I think Big Tobaccy should be run out of business, and they should pay for everyone's treatment of this addiction.
Apparently Joe is also going to lose his teeth on the top of his mouth; he seems to have a disorder where the bone holding the teeth in degenerates, and perfectly healthy teeth fall out. Sucks.
Poor Joe. My heart goes out to him. He's 42 and his wild, unhealthy lifestyle that he's been living up to this point is starting to catch up to him.
