...that I have.
Since When Did Being a Pagan or Heathen Mean...
...that I have to wear medieval clothing to every rite I go to?
...that I have to do magic every time I do a ritual?
...that I want to be called "Lady (insert name here)"?
...that my path is earth-centered?
...that history suddenly becomes completely worthless, or that investigation of history is a non-pagan thing to do?
...that if I am female I MUST worship a Goddess, and if I am male, I MUST worship a God?
...that men's rites involve beer, drumming and no showers as opposed to port, classical or jazz music, and air conditioning?
...that I can barely control my sexuality and I am consumed with desire to have sex with every last human being I see?
...that I cannot or should not learn useful prayer and liturgical techniques from Christians (or anyone else for that matter)?
...that my political views are automatically as far left/liberal as you can possibly get?
...that I, as a pagan woman, am all about babies and motherhood?
...that Goddess is all peace and tranquility and a beautiful size 2 blond woman with huge hooters, a la Jonathan Earl Bowser's art?
...that my New Year is Samhain?
There's likely more, but those are the ones I can remember offhand. I originally wrote this at work, where I can't access LJ. I can expand a bit more on each of these questions later. Each one could have an essay written about it, really.
