just how fluent in spanish are you? and why?
did you try out any spanish in paris? i hear that works sometimes since what with their small countries, most Europeans know more than one language.

that's how long i studied, from my 8th grade year, throughout high school and college. i only have about 3 classes left for a degree in spanish. but i never studied abroad, so i would need to do that too.

i actually didn't try spanish in paris, but i should have. figured i was already a fish out of water, so speaking the native tongue was much easier.

i think i would have been tempted to try it just because showing you have any second language at all elevates you above the "dumb American tourist" i'm sure they get all the time.

i took three years in H.S. but i sure as shit don't know any more than "Karen, put your chicle en la basura."
