Okay. Third time through my pants aren't getting a chance to dry. This album is fantastic.
It's kind of exciting that I'm kicking off this blog with the new Radiohead album, as yet only released online to the delight of hundreds of thousands (millions?) of rabid fans - even if it is only at 160bps. Don't get angry at them, kids. They're Radiohead. You're not allowed to get angry at them.
I was so nervous leading up to this release; thankfully I only had ten days in which to be anxious. I love everything about this album, from its announcement through to its digital "you tell us how much it costs" release (screw you, music industry!) through to my first listen, which was done through laptop speakers as the songs slowly transferred from my laptop onto my iPod as I drove to Kira's house, too impatient to wait until I got there. Almost twenty-four hours later, I've had the album on loop all day at work and am still enjoying it almost as much as that first time (except without the goosebumps by now... mostly, anyway).
The album has a bit of a Hail to the Thief feel about it, but more grounded. I think if In Rainbows and Amnesiac had a baby, it would be Hail to the Thief, if that makes any kind of sense. I'm not really good at reviewing things, but I am good at babbling about them. I guess if that ridiculous analogy holds up, it's been like a steady progression through from Amnesiac to In Rainbows.
A+ = 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Reckoner, House of Cards, Jigsaw Falling Into Place.
