My grandparents are like that too. Pretty sure they just can't remember what they were talking about 10min ago.

Tracy! I spotted you creepin' in the top of the pic Misha posted today and I was like "What is that girl up to now?" and there was...THIS! I was going to be madly jealous of you for all your wonderful travels and fab pics, then I remembered LOL I live in Canada now and get to chase cowboys, go to paleontology sleepovers and hang out at Space Camp. And also, never find time to update LJ ( ... )

Hahha I stayed up writing this just for you!

You chase cowboys in Canada? Awesome. If I make it up to Alberta I will come chase cowboys with you!

LOL really? No women thrust anything at me in Myanmar or touched my hair. Good thing too 'cause I'm horrible with babies. I'll be sure to hit up Pattaya on my next trip to Thailand, there's still so much I wanted to see and do that I didn't get to. This trip so far has been a bit of a whirlwind and there are quite a few countries where I'm like, "yeah, definitely gotta come back here when I get a chance." So I will look forward to frail old men with hot nurse escorts!

Hahha sometimes I do get beds at the couch surfers' places. And it's been pretty safe, I only stay with people who have a some positive references and such.

Hope you have fun times too! <3

Sleep deprivation is just another way to say you care. Parts of 'Brokeback Mountain' were filmed near where I am, but I've found the ranch guys get curiously silent when you bring that up. So disappointing.

I adore Thailand- the mountain region up near Chiang Mai is amazing for views and shopping, also adore the beaches of Hua Hin and Koh Samui is my forever love. I always get called "Bridget" when I'm there, because apparently to the locals I look like Bridget Jones, LOL.

Glad you're keeping safe- enjoy Rome, it is AMAZING OMG AND THE FOOD. Well, you know. <3

Really? That is disappointing. But then again maybe they get teased about that often enough that it gets annoying, who knows?

I really wanted to go to Chiang Mai, and it's so close to Myanmar too! Oh well, next time.

YES GAH THE FOOD IN ROME. I miss gnocchi already.

Hopefully your journal accepts anon comments (it's strangeandcharm with no LJ account any more *waves*).

Re: the ashtray on the non-smoking plane - I was reading about the new Dreamliner planes yesterday, amazing brand new eco-friendly planes that are the Next Big Thing, and apparently they all have ashtrays in the toilets even though they're non-smoking. The reason? Because if someone breaks the law and tries to have a sneaky ciggie in the toilet, they still need somewhere to stub it out. Brilliant!

I'm not sure when LJ started automatically screening anonymous comments, pfft.

But having an ashtray there encourages them to break the law! It's not brilliant at all.

Tracy.

Amazing.

And yes scary.

But mostly amazing.

The news is reporting that Dubai is just recovering from a recession, did you see evidence of that?

I'm not sure what signs of recession a tourist can see? The couch surfer I stayed with was employed and making lots of money anyway, and he didn't mention anything about a recession. Dubai still seemed very rich to me.
