I worked 8 hours everyday this week. (It's exhausting. But I know it will get better with time.)

I started reading a book I've been dying to get to: Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers. It's the second book in the His Heir Assassins series. I mean, how can you NOT love a series that has nuns, who train the heirs of Death to be assassins ( Read more... )

I've never heard of the His Heir Assassins series before, but oh, it sounds awesome!

Also, very intriguing snippet! So curious now about what's going on...

Grave Mercy, the first book, got A LOT of buzz. I've learned over the years to not rush out and the "buzz" book immediately. Too many times I finish it and am bewildered. But I got the audio book from the library when I went on a road trip. I loved it! I own the book now. It's very intriguing. You have political betrayal, romance, action, murder mystery, and it makes you think about death and life and judgment. It's very clever. And apparently loosely based on real characters and events in history. if you like historical fiction, it is a great choice.

Intrigued is good. Thank you!

Do you find writing in 1st person easy or difficult? So far, when I try in 1st person I get too tangled up in my character and loss sight of the story. I have better luck being a spectator, 3rd person.

It's been easier for me. When I do 3rd person, I have a hard time connecting to the characters and my writing voice is very stiff. First person lets my writing voice blend with the character's voice. Or at least, that's what I tell myself. :)

Oh...the last two days have been rough on me. I think I did too much Wednesday. But I have two days to recover.

Thank you! I'm enjoying the writing process. I just wish I had more time and energy to do it. But I'll take what I can get.
