Ah, this was a great second chapter. I enjoyed the role reversal between Fei Long and Mikhail, with Fei Long taking the lead in determining whether or not he wants to pursue a relationship with Mikhail.

The story of Fei meeting João Paolo as a child was delightful.

I especially liked how you contrasted the East/West conceptions of fate and destiny; it was incredibly realistic given the two men's cultural backgrounds and helped illustrate the difference between their approach to life and relationships. I too see Mikhail as someone who is not yet in love. Mikhail's honest response to Fei Long's question and Fei Long's answer afterward also seemed very appropriate and realistic as well given the fragile state of their relationship.

And what a cliffhanger! Although I loathe Google translate I'm willing to use it just to find out what happened!^^

Hey,
I was so happy to read both of your comments this morning! Thanks for reading and telling me your opinion, I am glad that you liked the story so far!

Well, to be honest, I didnt think of their coincidence/destiny controversy as a Eastern/Western kind of thing, i just thought it fitted very well with how I imagine their characters to be. But now that you pointed it out, it absolutely makes sense in a cultural way as well. Their character is certainly influenced by their culture after all.
Anyways, thanks for emphasizing this point. It took me a lot of time and effort to write this conversation and it's great to know some people are actually paying so much attention to it and aren't like: For f**** sake, just make out already! And yes, I like Fei being a bit more dominant, he is a powerful Mafia leader after all. I feel he is often pushed into a slightly "female" role with Mikhail pursuing their relationship and being really straightforward and him as the reluctant and doubting part. That is perfectly fine with me, but my ( ... )

I love a good story, and I do appreciate the work and effort that you put into their dialogue.^^

And I know what you mean about the feminization of Fei, although I do think that in canon Mikhail is definitely pushy, and Fei is rather uninterested and reluctant. But I have to admit that I am guilty of writing an AU Mik x Fei in dominant seme /submissive uke roles not only because it is fun, but also because it is a helluva lot easier to get straight to the smex that way! *g*

I do look forward to the translation and I hope that you are able to work on it soon! Thank you for sharing this story with us.^^

Well I can't deny I enjoy a dominant Mik and a submissive Fei and quick smex so you're not "guilty" of anything ;)

Thanks for reading and commenting!! ^^

Fate or not-- in this very moment he thanked God, whom he wasn’t sure if he believed in, that he was allowed to touch this heavenly being.

To me, that's the most beautiful part of this chapter ♡

I believe there's one more finishing chapter?
