[ it's probably seeing the bodies that does it to her, but Clarine is sitting in the living room looking quite unhealthily pale. she's seen wars and mangled bodies and dead people before, but never seen someone just drop dead for no reason, or melt, or felt this just waiting around until someone dislikes her enough to vote for her, and then she'll ( Read more... )

Hrm. That could work, if everybeast who happens to be a traitor was willing to play along. I've reason to suspect that's not the case, unfortunately. Also...what happens if more than one person is tied for the majority vote?

[Clary looks around for a direction to shout in order to address the House...settles for up.]

House! Point of clarification, if y'please! If the majority vote is even for more than one beast, what happens?!

[ a little green ball rolls out from under the couch to rest at Clary's feet ]

If there is a tie, we would certainly try to break it, but if a tie is the end result, then we will carry out the players' will!

[Clary scowls.]

Stop being so deuced ambiguous! If there is a tie, will all those receiving a majority vote die, or will they all be spared?!

Yes, they will all be taken care of! We cannot change what the players vote for!

And then the Traitors' votes are randomized. And kill others still.
And we won't find out anything this way.

No, no, if they're voting for themselves, why would their votes be randomized? That's only if they don't vote!

That's also the case when one traitor votes for another traitor.
Otherwise it would be too easy, don't you think?

Well yes, but we can't just do nothing- or- vote for other people! People are dying!

Oh, Bon-chan, how brave! [Peach, nearly tearful, holds her arms out to offer her roommate a hug. If she's brave, as they keep telling her, for voting for herself when it's only what any princess ought to do...then how much braver he is!]

Good! Good, if we can get people to do that, then maybe we can keep deaths from happening!

[Reki is briefly startled. Then a faint smile crosses her face, and she settles onto the couch next to her little roommate, giving her the best reassuring smile she can muster.]

Vote for ourselves, huh? We can do that?

I would hope so! There has to be an option that doesn't involve randomizing our votes and maybe killing someone!

[Reki smiles, feeling an odd sense of...relief? She'll have to look over the rules herself, to make sure, but--she has a feeling she lucked out more than she realized on her roommate.] You're a good kid.

[A thought occurs.] Are you doing all right?

But what if not everyone wants to do that? Wouldn't be putting ourselves in danger?

ysocommoner March 3 2010, 18:11:04 UTC
But what's the alternative? Just letting our votes be random? Why would we vote for another person unless they mean to do us harm?
