This was really wonderful of you to do. [Claire carefully walks in and picks up a vanilla cupcake. She starts to pull off the paper holder so that she can take a decent bite, at which point her eyes roll back for a moment.] That's delicious! I think this is a great way to honor those people.

[Peach feels better already, seeing how much her baking is being enjoyed.] Oh, it was nothing. [She dimples a little.] I do enjoy making cakes.

[ Kinda watching awkwardly for a minute... then takes a few steps in. Now that he's looking properly... ]

You really went all out, huh? How long did this take?

Oh, every minute was worth it! [She started the morning before, got to bed late and was frosting everything this morning, but it took her mind off things a bit.]

It's nice to stay busy, don't you think? [Her voice may still be a bit wobbly, but she offers him a big smile and a tray of madeleines anyway.] Do you like lemon zest? I made some with almonds, too.

[ Forces a smile and takes one. That's the last of his sanity gone. He's in a house with no way out playing a lethal game and accepting cake from Princess Peach. He smiles anyway. ]

Lemon's fine, thanks. Wouldn't want all your hard work to go to waste.

[She had been really nice to him, so why not be nice to her as well? One of the victims was her roommate, after all. There is just no way she's able to take it that easily.]

Oh, Mario is a hero from my world! [She brightens up at the topic of conversation.] He's very brave, and he always comes for me when I'm in trouble. Sometimes it takes him a little while, but he always saves the day in the end.

[A thought occurs.] Have you met Luigi?

A ... hero?! [Brave and saves ... princesses ... That reminds Yzak of someone he avoids to remember as much as possible, without any result, of course.]

Yes, it's been hard for both of us. [Peach sighs.] Mario is his brother. Usually they work together...he must be terribly lonely without him. [She frowns a little,worried.] Oh, I wish he would hurry...!

Stap me vitals, what a spread! You should be made an honorary General, marm, this is just the ticket for boosting morale!

[Clary grabs a cupcake and starts scoffing. Yes, scoff, that is the technical term.]

[Peach actually laughs with delight. It's a good feeling.] I did hope it would cheer people up!

Have you tried these? [She offers a tray of scones with all the trimmings (except for the clotted cream, which has been absconded with for the cat).]

[Clary grabs a scone in addition to his mostly-vanished cupcake.]

Mmmm, scones. Reminds me of home. Don't get me wrong, the rations hereabouts have been interesting, but nothing beats the scoff cooked over the good ol' hearth fires.

[The rest of the cupcake and half the scone manage to disappear while Clary is saying this. The hare demolishes bits of the feast at an alarming rate for such a small creature.]

Oh, dear! Let me see... [Peach hovers a gloved hand over the table for a moment, thinking, then fetches down a glass dish of rich clotted cream that was meant to go with a tray of scones and lemon curd.] Would this do for a kitty?

[ he's not going to just dive into it like a glutton, but he certainly isn't being reserved about his enjoyment as he licks at it ]
