so, friday was the VHSL district theatre festival. it's a one-act play competition. top two go to regionals; top two from regionals go to states.

we came in 7th out of 8.

okay, so we didn't come in last, and that's good. at least we beat someone. but i felt really bad for my kids - we were the only school not to get recognized for anything. ( Read more... )

open online casting call for glee?

i'm a little embarrassed that i completely plan to audition. hahah.

i'm at that weird point in losing weight where my newer, "fat" clothes are too loose, but my older, "skinny" clothes still don't quite fit. it really, really sucks.

sorry i haven't been writing more lately. i don't feel like talking about my job.

a lot of shitty stuff has been going on.

i want to go to grad school.

i started seeing a new therapist today.

along with the normal exceptions to the confidentiality agreement - court orders, suspicion of a suicide attempt, etc. - my therapist is legally obligated to report my behaviors, history, and sessions if he feels that i may be a threat to the President or secret service.

things that make me cry right now:

- the beatles
- the office
- doctor who
- hair

looks like i need to find some new favorite things.

we build a treehouse,
i keep it from shaking.
a little more glue
every time that it breaks.
perfectly balanced -
and then i start making
conscious, deliberate mistakes.

My students continue to surprise me on a daily (hourly!) basis. Today I was told:

"Ms. Berting, I don't know what it is, but for some reason you remind me of Lady Gaga."
