Yeah, that picture of the girls in '43' jerseys freaks me out.
I can just see a parent that has their kids wear that clothing: "Yes, I want my children to advertise for the politician that's going to make them pay more taxes for less benefits so I can have a few hundred bucks extra a year in my pocket. Yay, Dubya!"
For a few weeks, there was a silent protest at the Minnesota State Capitol from people who wanted to put a vote to ban same sex marriages on the November ballot. So every day in to work, I got to pass people with signs that said stuff like "Are you in the Gay community's pocket?" and "Its wrong in God's eyes" and stuff like that. To which normally I think that if that's your views, fine. What really bugged me was that the protestors would have their 2 and 3 year old children standing there all day with them holding signs that said "My parents know what a marriage is" and "I believe in a mommy and a daddy" and stuff like that. To which I just thought, "Umm, no. This kid is 2. They don't know what this is about. Using your child to make a political statement is just wrong." Plus I'm sure the kids were just THRILLED to stand on the capitol steps all day holding a sign.
