This made me laugh. It pretty much encapsulates my cleaning philosophy too. Just enough so that people's jaws don't hang open when they walk through the door.

i'm worried that my standards are out of synch with others'. like right now, i'm happy with this level of clean. i'm patting myself on the back. but if, say, some southern woman came in here (i grew up mostly in georgia, and it kind of haunts me), she might make that little "mmm" sound that southern women make. it means, roughly, "i am so sorry for you and for the people who brought you up this way. so sorry, in fact, that i cannot put into words all of my pity for you and my gratitude that i am a decent person, quite unlike you."
