The Silversun Pickups are going to be the biggest indie band of this year. Kite Flying Society is also really, really good. No they're not--I heard one song that was great, but it sounds nothing like the rest.

Also, is this the best mashup ever? I don't know, but I like it A LOT.

haven't heard that blonde redhead album.

I think wolf parade ended up my #1 record of last year on my top 10 list--i liked it a lot.

as for the YYYs, i really don't care what anyone else says about Karen O not being as great/crazy as she once was, Show Your Bones is my favorite record of this year (so far).

now that i'm a grown-up I'm doing properly hipster jobs -- barista, updating a database for my big hippie to hipster dorm (collins llc), and working at a gourmet pizza joint (ranked in the top 9 in the nation).

with luck i'll soon be working in a place that require chef pants and has a wine list.

i also have several writing projects, but ssshhhh don't tell the parents. they'd freak if they thought i was trying to pay my rent by writing regency romances. (with undertones of pro-feminism)

and you? you should post more, the better for me to stalk you.

good to hear you're doing well. is that gourmet pizza joint in bloomington? what's it called? if the pizza's that good, maybe i'll have to stop by over the summer.

wine lists are fantastic. i have no idea what i'm doing when i look at one, but i like the idea.

the house i'm living in (an awesome co-op thing) has an entire box of regency romances--seriously, like 40. We've developed a drinking game--everyone gets one, you open to a random page, and if there is a sex scene, you drink. it's a marvelously effective game.

i probably should post more, but i really doubt people want to hear me drone on about my life--it's actually quite dull, absorbed by schoolwork and the newspaper i edit. but i can try, i suppose.

Best mash-up ever is 50 Cent's "Party in da Club" and the theme from "Benny Hill." You might not believe me, but trust me it is superior in every way.

Although Usher and Clint are pretty good.
