My daughter, Amy, is 18 on Monday. I can hardly believe it. It doesn't feel like 18 years since I was rushed to the operating theatre for an emergency caesarian and felt the doctors tugging her out of my body.  As the doctors were stitching me up...sorry if this sounds a bit graphic !...she lay in a little plastic cot, staring at me with wide eyes ( Read more... )

Happy birthday Amy!

I know you are dreading it a bit, but I hope the meeting goes well. I think you are wise to agree to meet him. At least that way you will have more idea of who he is, what he is like.

Yes, I need to meet him. I may not be happy about the situation but, so far, he's been good to her and she seems to be happy. He spoils her a lot and who, at 18, doesn't like that ? Not sure if that will last when they live together though.

I have a friend who lives on Orkney on a farm with her parents. She's called Amy too. Maybe Amy could meet Amy?
