Thanks for sharing this article. The author, Kyle, appeared in 2 episodes of Queer Television when he started out on T, and I always wonder how far he and the other guy featured in the special have gotten on the road of transition.

seriously, don't stress too much. they are such different procedures, with completely different recoveries. The first 2-3 days suck, but only because of the gas. You don't have incisional pain and all the trauma that goes along with opening the belly like that.

How awful is the gas stuff? Does it feel like you can't move and stuff or what?

It's uncomfortable, but not untolerable

Hey lucas, i came across your journal and wanted to offer my words of support -- seriously just relax; everyone's recovery is different, everyone's pain factor is different, and everyone's body heals differently and at varied speeds. You will make it. You will.

Hi, I saw you over at Corey's LJ and popped in for a read kosseferal June 29 2003, 14:08:53 UTC
I had a look at the article at transhealth, since I just had a total hysto and oophorectomy about three weeks ago. Honestly, even though I didn't get the LAVH I'd signed on for, it wasn't that bad. The more you can get up and moving after surgery the faster you'll bounce back ( ... )
