Great set of thoughts/reactions. My overall opinion is about the same as yours. On balance I like season 8 -- even quite a lot. But there's a lot that was crazy and didn't make sense.

BTW, One of these days I'm going to treat myself to an afternoon with your AtS season 5 commentaries. They're really good- but I got behind!!
