I'd heard vaguely the same thing (without the marrying bit) from someone else, which is why I chose that version. Most versions I've read have either been horribly abbridged, plain wrong, or just irritating.
Reminds me of the "Mountain Trousers" incident. Guh.
It's faze. Phase doesn't mean what you think it means.
Also: spelt: n. a hardy variety of wheat of inferior quality, sometimes grown in mountainous regions.
And here's your word of the day:sop·o·rif·ic [sòppə ríffik] adj 1. making somebody sleepy: causing sleep or drowsiness 2. feeling sleepy: experiencing sleepiness or drowsiness 3. tedious: dull and boring See, the thing is, if I had the motivation that you had, I would read all those books too, because they sound fascinating (barring the Odyssey, since I already read it). Alas, this is not the case.
The English language should conform to my perceptions of it. So, phase - period of time, step of a process, faze - to disturb. I blame Star Trek for confusing me. (I mean, phasers and disruptors, and whatall)
Secondly, soporific is terrific! Haha, what an interesting pronunciation.
And, finally, I'll throw them at you when I'm done. Well, the ones that I like and won't cause serious injury. (Because one of them weighs 5 pounds. *eyeroll*)
