Katara was happy to have Zhin accompany her as she went about her busy work: she'd had an idea that this would take a long time to complete, so she'd spent the last few days she would normally set aside for training or meditation to bustling around the Marriot hotel, getting things to be as they'd been when she first approached the original leaders

Lash just looked at the pool as if it was made of molten lava. Apart from the oceans, this whole idea of putting a large body of water just to swim in it baffled her. Water pools were made to cool of metal and hot materials for weapon building!

"Are you serious?!" She had no idea how silly she might sound to...probably everyone else.

"I do not see a reason to believe that Katara is not serious," Starfire added, walking to the water's edge.

"It is a wonderful pool, but where will we acquire swimming uniforms?"

Katara actually did look surprised at the question. Was it really so hard to believe, that there would be a pool inside a hotel? Then again, she really didn't know all that much about hotels anyway.

"I have swim suits," Katara said, grinning. "Always helps to be prepared, right?"

"...Are you guys seriously suggesting we swim in it?!" She still couldn't believe what she was hearing.

Katara blinked. Was she serious? Were there NO pools in her world? No water?

"Um, yeah. You guys don't do that in your world? You only use it to take a bath?"

"I have encountered similarly strange customs," Starfire sympathized. Already she'd picked out a purple bikini, seemingly intent on giving this a try right away.

"But yes, when we have an abundance of sufficiently clean water, we swim for recreational purposes."

"Yeah but...in a cooling pool? Why not just near rivers and oceans?" She turned to Katara. "We had showers."

Really, really cold ones.

"Well, we don't really have rives or oceans here saved for Haku's and he's a river god, so I figure he kinda wants his own space. The reason for pools I guess have something to do with hotels and stuff. But a pool is for everyone to enjoy, take a dip, relax."

Oh, showers. No pools? That sounded a little depressing.

Starfire dipped another finger into the water curiously, now dressed in her new swimming gear. Wow, that was fast.

"I believe that this water's temperature is steady. We are in no danger of experiencing the frost."

Epic missing of the point, round one. "Katara is correct. We have tubs and showers for individual bathing, but a pool is convenient for multiple people to enjoy water without disturbing the lake."
