Woody dithered about near the entrance to Obs Deck, fingers fiddling with the brim of his hate as he held it in his hands, extremely nervous about mingling with the crew for the first time. It was one thing to talk to everyone on the comms; it was entirely another to do it face to face.
"You can do this. It's no different than talking to other

The wunderkind couldn't help but notice the small man fiddling around, and didn't make herself known just quite yet, as she watched him. Studying anyone was something she enjoyed doing, and for something that size it was even more so. It was...weird. While he was talking to himself, the plastic material moved with it, giving him an almost humanlike appearance, but staying so very much like something she'd take to blow up for bomb tests as a child. Even now, her own mind was telling her that this was something she should be sleeping with at night.
The only way for her to accept it was to consider it like a tiny, really, really well done robot. She was visibly impressed, and knelt down to look at him more closely.
"Huh. For some reason, I expected you to be bigger."

He was hug-sized, okay?

"Did you lose it?"

"What, my holster? Oh I never had a gun in that thing. That's not really kid-friendly. I didn't have one on the show, either."

"Don't cowboys usually...gun things down?" She sat down, resting one arm on her cheek to think. "Are you able to shoot, at least?"

"The ship can be dangerous. You get stuck somewhere alone, you're just a sitting duck...I mean doll...no that even sounds wrong. Can I call you a person anyway? Or a robot?"
Her much larger thumb and finger were hovering near the holster, as she mentally measured it.
"But, I do love a challenge. I'm a wunderkind, you know!" She puffed up her chest in pride. "I've built weapons all my life! I bet I could build you a small gun? N-no wait!" her eyes almost seemed to sparkle as she went off. "Maybe a miniature stun gun or...or a death ray! You know what rayguns are, right?"
Reply
"Nooo thanks, miss. This cowboy intends to stay death ray free. I don't want any parts that could be dangerous to kids."
He went on, "And I'm a toy. Not a person, not a robot. A toy."
Reply
"Uhhh... I guess I can't force you huh..." she trained off into a small sigh. "The word...toy...it's got a not too nice past with me. Sorry if I have trouble saying it. Do you have anything ...non-destructive that you'd like me to build you, then?" There was probably no way for her to sound even more disappointed at this point.

"Actually, I could do with a good lasso. Something strong, but small and light. My pullstring works in a pinch, but I could do with something better. If you didn't mind, I'd be much obliged."
Reply
"I'll see what is the hardest string-like material we've got on board, and I'll whip you up something really resistant and fireproof."

Uh-oh. In an afterthought maybe she could have lied about her name.
Reply
"Aha. Uh. The same one that used toys for target practice?"

"I-I changed?" she offered, unmoving from her position. She didn't want him to break into a run, not when a 15 inch toy was much harder to catch. "I guess....I started to care more after coming here and fighting against the Ohm...Look, I didn't know they were alive," Or else I probably would have done it more back then knowing myself, she thought. "...and I won't harm a sentiment toy. Komali would just moan about it anyway."
Reply
"Hopefully they weren't like me." Please let them have not been like him. "Maybe it's not the same with toys everywhere. And, uh, I appreciate it. The not-harming...thing."
