The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall ( Read more... )

Sho took his omnicomm and comm ring and went to a quite little corner to be by himself for a while. He was utterly stunned at what he had just found out. Not by the reason he was there, but by the fact that everyone he knew and loved was gone now, and he may never see them again. It felt as though all the fighting and suffering had been for nothing. Sho too bitter comfort in the fact that at least now he'd no longer be hunted down the rest of his life.

"I tried so hard to protect you all..."

"Not exactly." Sho replies and crosses his arms. "The ship I was on before was already special. In my world, space ships are made out of metal. They're really more like shuttles than ships. And they are nowhere near as advanced as Stacy. The furthest anyone ever really got was the moon."

"Further than we were going." Madara's delusions didn't exactly count. Placing giant illusions on the moon wasn't quite the same as reaching it. "Makes you far more familiar with it than I am, either way. Got any tips for someone new to the idea of space travel?"

She smiled.

Sho smiles back at Sakura. "Well, not many, but a few. Zero gravity is pretty fun. You should never go outside without a spacesuit, but I don't think we really have to worry about that here. There isn't really any day or night, so daily schedules can be a little unusual."

"A set your own kind of deal?" The spacesuits made sense, on the assumption that one couldn't live naturally in space. "Zero gravity... The idea makes sense, but what exactly does that feel like?"

This was something that Sho really did know, despite never being in space before.

"Oh, you feel completely weightless. Without any gravity, you can just float around and swim through the air. Your organs are weightless too though, so you might get a little sick, but you get used to it."

Sakura blinked in surprise, assimilating this new information.

"Is it anything like swimming?" Her immediate thoughts tried to frame this information in a more familiar context -- had she ever experienced true free fall, she might have asked that instead of what she did.

"Well, yeah, it's a lot like swimming, just in air." Sho answers. "But it's a lot harder to move around without pushing off something like a wall. And you don't have to worry about getting wet, unless you brought a drink. Then the liquids start floating everywhere in all kinds of weird shapes." Sho's smiles gets wider the more he explains

As far as topics went, this one at least easier to concentrate on. "Why? Without the forces holding you down, does the water just... kind of stick to itself? It responds to outside pressures differently without a container?"
