Free ice cream! [open]

 Alex sat beneath the shade of a large tree in a decent sized park. Those familiar with New York might recognize the sky scrapers in the distance, even if they didn't recognize the park itself.  Parked on a small service road was an ice cream truck with a merry vendor, who claimed that it was customer appreciation day, and was thus giving ice cream

Lash didn't recognize anything. Well alright, the town she had seen from other people's minds (it seemed to be pretty popular for some reason, even if it kept changing around). Ice cream vendors? Nope, a total and complete mystery to her. And despite the fact it wasn't real and just her mind playing tricks, hey free food was free food and these strange little swirly things all the children around seemed to be liking looked good enough for her.

Just one problem.

"That's a lot of flavors and options." Yes. Lash was seriously pondering toppings as options.

"J-just p-pick one a-at random. F-first one your eye lands on. That's how I f-found my favourite."

Alex had just finished getting his favourite again, making this his third double scoop. He smiled, but was looking decidedly at the side of the ice cream truck, even if there was no one else he could really be addressing.

"I'm a scientist, not a random...ist," she argued, already the different flavors, toppings AND cones entering her mind. "There's at least 1,540 different combinations! This is insane! How am I supposed to find the one that's right for me?!"

Stay calm Lash. Just. Stay calm. She took a deep breath and began to look at what seemed the most appetizing. "Are those gummy worms?!" She continued to ponder, rubbing her chin while the poor man looked at her waiting for the afro kid to just GET ON WITH IT.

"O-okay. Um. Strawberry. Dipped in that gooey chocolate thing and the gummy worms on top." And LO! A cone. Filled with things that kinda looked like worms crawling all over a chocolate mess. She accepted it, the ice cream already starting to melt down her fingers and took a first bit. It was...it was...

"Hey! This isn't too bad!"

Alex raised an eyebrow, casting a glance at Lash, impressed by the speed of the counting and calculations. Looking back to his own cone, he laughed a bit at her reaction to the ice cream and said, "i-it's easier ta f-find your favourites of e-each thing, and w-work from there I g-guess. I like the options, e-even though I only u-usually g-get one of a f-few combinations I know I l-like."

"Well I won't know what I like unless I try them," she answered, the cone dripping in her hand. A sudden devious looked appeared in her face. "Which means..."

She turned around at the counter, where the poor old man looked at her with the strangest look of fright displayed across his face.

"I want a Vanilla cone, dipped in that caramel thing and that coffee-flavored cookie topping!" He gave her a disbelieving grunt, but filled out the order just the same.

Now she had two dripping cones. With her victory secured, she licked her prize and...

"EWWWWW! COFFEE DOES NOT GO WELL WITH ICE CREAM." Cone on the floor in surprise. Goodbye cone. "How did Hawke even like this stuff pitch black I will never understand."

Alex laughed a bit as he licked his ice-cream, resulting on him getting some on his face. "W-well, th-then you might wanna avoid th-the other bitter ones t-too."

No that just made her one to try more. And now that she had a free hand.

"Make me one. With the bitterest stuff you have."

Bitter red raspberries covered in sour poprocks it was. Satisfied, she took a lick and then tried to nearly spill everything up.

"Hey! There's things exploding in my mouth!" She looked dramatically at the man. "Are you trying to kill me?"

He just shook his head sadly.
