The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

"Well that wasn't too long. Guess even Stacy couldn't keep you podded up like that." And that was as a warm and bright greeting that she'd get from Lash as she gave her a wave and a small pat on the shoulder.

"Two weeks of beauty sleep good enough for you?"

"Nope, not me! Kaya said trying to sound better about it than she actually felt. Being pulled into stasis she didn't remember just to have her memory go all scrambly was not her idea of a good time.

"More than enough," she said, rolling her eyes. "How are you, Lash?"

"Eh, same old same old." She smiled back and stretched out, pretending to be bored. "Still no one from my world. I guess it's probably because I was the brightest, tee hee hee." Laughing at the situation certainly helped her aching heart.

Kaya knew a thing or two abut an aching heart at the moment. She was dreading meeting the Avatar crew, if only because she would be meant with the blank stares when meeting them, that feeling that she wasn't really with them hitting her harder than she expected.

"I meant to ask...I've been out awhile. How are you and Beastboy?"

And that just passed waaaaay over her head. Lash just stared at her, wondering why there was a sudden change in subject to Beast Boy of all people. Who said the wunderkind couldn't be oblivious.

"Uhhh, he's been thinking about what to do with the Outsides since you were gone I guess? I helped him out a bit?" And then more confused stares.

That weird look on her face made her realize that even someone as smart as Lash could misunderstand what she was talking about, even when it seemed pretty obvious.

"I wasn't talking about the team, I was talking about you two specifically!" She laughed. "You seemed pretty closer after the marriage planet, I wondered if you hooked up yet."

It was amazing how when things did snap in her brain, they snapped up pretty fast. Had you ever seen Lash get so flustered before?

"...w-what?" I mean, sure he was okay, but for-real hooking up? She wasn't sure how that worked how that worked. Besides, Black Hole weren't strong in attachment and and...

Yep, that was definitely a way that she had never seen Lash before.

"Well yeah. He's a good guy, pretty sweet and adorable! I figured you guys might have finally realized that. Don't you want to?"

"Well if you haven't noticed I'm not sweet nor adorable," she answered with a bit of vitriol in her voice. She sighed before continuing. "And Black Hole was never big on the whole liking people business." Except that crush she still harbored for one(1) Black Hole Hawke. That broke every rule in the book. But it didn't mean... "Can we please talk about the weather or the fact you're back or something?"

It was really obvious that this conversation was not going in a direction that she liked anymore and it was perhaps in Kaya's best interest to follow suite. The flustering had been when she'd been caught, now that it was over, she was answering back the only way she knew in those situations.

She shrugged. "Who said that Beastboy is looking for sweet and adorable? I just said that he was. I don't know too many women that would fit that description anyway. You're fine how you are."

Kaya sighed. Why did people always have to and make things harder than they were, anyway. "Fine, fine, everyone has something they're sensitive about. Anyway, I was hoping to see you at more meetings. I have to start planning some with Beastboy!"

"Yes you have some planning to do with Beastboy," she repeated, crossing her arms and not at all making a big deal out of this. "But I'll try to be there."

"Thanks, I'll make sure to do that," she said. "And I'm sure he'll be really glad to see you there too. You were a pretty amazing ranger the last time."

"Yeah yeah I was pretty amazing," she agreed, waving at Kaya and running away like a dog with it's tail tucked in its legs walking gracefully off to see the other new crewmen. "I'll talk to you later!"
