As you enter the Sensorium today you find a most peculiar sight.

A large black wall with a 8-bit logo reading "Monsters and Mazes"

And two simple words.

"Start Game."

Upon choosing this a new menu appears showing a series of options:

Fighter
Paladin
Hunter
Rogue
Wizard
Cleric
Bard

What to do what to do?

karis needleteeth, lash, !location: sensoriums, midna, chases-parked-cars, maridian, nokosi, ronnae, beastboy, !status: open, bowser

Lash had no idea what half of those are.

"A bard? What are they going to do, sing the bad guy to death?" And there was a different between a Cleric and a Wizard? Really?

A short 8-bit Tutorial popped up explaining that Bardic music had special properties that could bolster the powers of others, or instill fear, sorry and other magical effects in others.

The second explained that Cleric's were like wizards, but also like priests so more godly and such.

"And what's a hunter?" she asked the 8-bit Tutorial.

Again with the cheap graphics, this time of a hero clad in green using ranged weapons instead of a sword.

"So what's the point all of this exactly? What type of game is it? Apart from being stuck in a maze, I assume."

You know that one kid who likes to read all of the instructions before beginning a game? Her name was Lash.

Huh, well there's always the one.

A light clicks on and reveals Beastboy lounging on a sofa munching on what appears to be colorful balls of some sort. An alien candy he picked up.

"Sup Lash!" He waved her over to get her to join.

She waved back, still trying to make heads and tails of this silly game.

"Are you the...'gamemaster?'" She moved her fingers as she spoke the last words.

"Yep, more or less." He tossed the book to her using the Sensorium so it wouldn't be damaged. "I found this in the Media library and thought I'd try it out in here."

Not listening. Busy reading book tossed at herself in this new comfy chair that suddenly appeared.

"So each type has a different start up gear based on the sex, level, name, stats choice, class...and charisma." Wow that was a lot of detailed things. She could appreciate that. Micromanaging was something she loved to do. "Spells can be learned based on level, use time, sleep to get the restored..."

"Wow, you read fast." Beastboy's eyes boggled and he got up to read over her shoulder, "Maybe you could run an adventure once you get the hang of it. I just kinda goof around and use the rules as a base."

"I don't think anyone would survive the first hour of my little games," she replied, snickering. "I've got a pretty good memory for numbers. I bet most players wouldn't even know half the stuff I throw at them."

Basically she would be ever gamer's nightmare. The micromanaging dungeon master.

And Beastboy could feel that. A shiver raced down his spine and he found himself wishing he had his lucky dice from home.

"So'd you get anything cool back on that mall planet?"

"Lots of things! I got to eat exploding candy, and I have a giant lolipop and some weird frog candies, and then lots of materials for all my inventions and I went to visit the black markets for a lot of probably illegal goods! What about you?"

Beastboy grinned impressed, "Tons of junk food and stuff, some new clothes and stuff, games and toys and these big fluffy blankets and stuff. It was great they wanted copies of my memories for money right? And I even got them to give me some copies of what they copied!"

Yes he had essentially bought the entire series of Teen Titans on DVD as viewed through the eyes of himself.

"And check this out!" Beastboy reached into his pile of stuff and pulled out a Beastboy plushie, soft and adorable with big googly eyes.

Wow, that kinda was adorable. It just made Lash more and more regretful of not selling her memories. Maybe she too, could have an awesome copy collection of her memories...wow that did sound kinda creepy.

"They had. Toys. Of you."

Why did they not have toys of her.

"Yeah! You want one? I bought a bunch!" He passed the toy to her without waiting for a response and went digging into the bags. "Oh and check this out, alien pop rocks!" He tore open a small packet and poured the crystals inside it onto his tongue. They began to fizzle and pop and crackle...and emit small fireworks!
