After everyone and all of their ships were properly loaded the Quarter had launched successfully. The journey from Stacy to the Trojan Asteroid field trailing NiSaris took several hours, but they managed to approach the field with the people of the nearby world being none the wiser ( Read more... )

"We're with you," Billy radioed to Chase, gathering whatever power they had left for a large shot. It was more efficient, he thought, than taking a thousand little deaths and a thousand little shots. Riskier too, but that was the game, wasn't it?

He called out to the other Rangers, aware that they'd sustained some damage in the last few rounds. "Everyone all right? Can we pull off these shots?"

Everything was ready to go until he heard Zedd's yell. Serpentera was in trouble...uh oh. Not good. They couldn't afford to lose it, and since Zedd was being fairly helpful, it wouldn't be right to let him die either. Which was really a ridiculous thing for Billy to think, given their background, but that was the strange situation they were in.

"Zedd's in trouble too," he informed the other Rangers quietly. They were a team. He wanted to hear their thoughts in the short time they had left before they needed to take action or face certain death.

What a chilling thought.

"Aye, for now." Thanks to being morphed and the practice they've had in the past, Jamie finds he's able to understand the instruments. And despite that damage, he was fairly confident that they could pull off that large shot...until Billy brought up Zedd. It was clear from the yell that things were not going well, but it put them in a tricky position.

"We'll not be able to do both. Either we take the shots or we go to help." The question is, which do they do? It would be easy to just leave him there and let things happen however they happened. But they could lose Serpentera that way, and though it was risky, they had to try and see if they could buy him enough time to power back up. "He'll not thank us for it, but I say we help."

"Never been better!" That was a lie of course but like Lash was going to show a sign of weakness. She never liked situations where it left her with making a moral right choice.

"Do you think we could...ride Serpentera?" It sounded so silly it just might work. She hoped. "Dock on its head and protect it from the best vintage point while keeping is relatively safe. If it gets back to power, we'd know he couldn't just accidentally shoot us."

There was a pause and she sighed a bit.

"Maybe we could also try me using my Commanding Officer powers. I think that might give the Zord a bit of extra movement and juice. If we combine that with Serpentera...BUT...I'm going to need a vacation after this! A long one. I don't even want to think the type of headache that's going to give me..."

"While you guys are figuring it out, I'll give you some cover."

There's not enough of a concentration to make the full missile barrage worthwhile, until they're desperate, but he still has four railguns and the Vulcan to use.

He precision fires the railguns, picking off Ohm around Serpenterra where he could, trying to open a pathway for the Rangers to get to it and give them some cover to figure out what they want to do. He uses the Vulcan in defense of his own location, picking off fighters who come into his immediate line.

"If you guys need to help him out, we'll figure it out. There's enough bugs for everyone."

Billy nodded frantically, pulling a quick movement he wasn't sure he could in order to protect the Tigerzord rear from unnecessary damage. He started up the button sequence, waiting for the others to follow.

"It sounds like the best plan, Lash. We'll carefully position ourselves and defend however we can. Just...take care of yourself," he wished her quietly as it began. Soon enough, they were drawing back toward Serpentera. At any moment, the Ohm would start following in earnest.

Part of Jamie's mind fought against the idea of Lash putting herself in that vulnerable of a position - what if something went wrong while she was doing that? There'd be nothing he could do, and he hated the thought. But the rest of him knew that it would give them the best chance at achieving their goal.

"Be careful," he echoed. "We can't afford to lose ye, Lash." His hands slid over the controls, turning the Thunder Megazord towards Serpentera and aiming for that spot on its head that would provide the best area to dock. As they started to close, the impact of the Shrikes attacks started to come more often as they picked up on the fact that backup was on the way.

"Andy or Kate, I'll need one of ye to take up the slack for her while she concentrates," he said, as a particularly strong blast shook the mecha. "Ron, can we deploy the smokescreen again to try and get some of these wee pests off of us?"

"Between us both, we should be ok." She was still managing the wings and steering. Kate didn't like the idea of Lash being on her own either. They needed to make sure she was covered as well. It had been a hard fight so far against the Ohm, and this one looked the roughest of all.

"Alright, got it!" Andy said, ready to concentrate and do whatever he needed to do to make sure Lash and the others were safe and they got through this.

"Don't worry about me," she sad in a bitter chuckle, thankful that her helmet was hiding away the sweat that had already formed on her forehead. "Once you guys notice that the Zord moves faster, you'll need to navigate to Serpentera as fast as possible. It should be a lot easier, but with all the stupid ugly Ohm out there it's not going to be easy. Uh...good luck or something."

She went quiet, signaling that she was starting to concentrate.

The emptiness of space. This was different than fighting on the ground. She recalled a few years ago building giant ships for Black Hole and their dreams of space travel. Well, here she was, the lone survivor and- No wait! Not the time to think of that. She could hear the shots being fired all around her. Something blew up in her controls and she flinched from the damaged sustained. That's right. Just keep shooting, you dumb...aliens! The CO's powers increased from the damage the units had sustained...but they were in a much larger unit than the ones she used to command. Adding Serpentera just ( ... )
