[[ooc: closed to Tim, Nathan, Eleven, Sakura, Anwei, and Faiza. Keep it all to one thread, with a posting order guys - e.g. person one goes, then Stacy, then person two, then Stacy, etc etc.]]

This admittedly wasn't quite how he pictured his first real conversation with Stacy.

The Doctor glanced over at the others. He was bursting with questions, actually, and not all of them had to do with this melty -- melting? He liked the sound of "melty" much more than "melting", in his semi-not-quite-professional opinion -- melty clock thing. But what was it he'd heard? Yeah, "staying on task" (overrated in his mind). Probably should work on it he supposed ( ... )

||No, I'm afraid not,|| Stacy answers, clearly distressed. ||Technically what's happening isn't an injury, so not even returning them to the Pod Caverns would slow or stop the process.||

Anwei was sitting at attention - there was no other way to put it. Her back stiff despite her exhaustion, she had her omnicom set square in her lap, hands hovering over it to capture every question and response. There were dark shadows under her eyes from sleeplessness, but he held her voice steady and calm as she spoke, willing Stacy to understand and to answer.

They were in dire need of answers, and soon.

"Do you have any records of something like this affecting crew members in the past - and how it was remedied?"

||Nothing like this has happened on board before,|| Stacy says. ||At least, not that I can recall at this time. I have knowledge of something similar, but I've never encountered it myself. You said that it seems to have been caused by a clock?||

Nathan then spoke up, "A clock that looks like it's melting from the last planet, XaXing that we visited. Anybody affected by it is basically going backward in time. Now there was no way for your sensors to normally pick up such an affliction? What's similar to this that you do know of?"

||There are a few things that I have heard of that could cause this or something like this, but the one that seems to be the most accurate for this situation was thought to be a myth,|| Stacy says. ||According to legend, there is a melting clock that has been trying for eons to restore itself by stealing time from those who hear its chime. Did those affected say whether they heard it ring?||

"They did," Tim said, nodding his head. He stood a bit back from the rest of the group, somewhat apart, but he'd been listening closely to everything said so far. While he thought of the situation as a whole, trying to piece it all together-- and to deconstruct it at the same time-- he started by asking the obvious next question: "Does the legend mention a way of reversing the process?"

||Destroying the Clock.||

"Which is probably NOT going to be as easy as just dropping it." Faiza shook her head, biting her bottom lip. "Though there are either two or more clocks like this or destroying it is just a guess." She sighed. "Is there any medical way that you've heard of to slow the process? Or we're likely to end up with some incredibly young crew."

||I do not know if there are multiple Clocks, but the legend of a Melting Clock that steals time from those who hear it says that the only way to restore the victims is to destroy the Clock,|| Stacy clarified. ||I know of no other way to slow the deaging process besides that.||

No medical way of treating the age-loss, no way of slowing it down they knew of, and a legend to explain what was going on. Sakura knew there was a reason the logic of events on and around Stacy made disturbing amounts of sense from time to time.

"Does the legend state how the Clock could be destroyed?" Were they going to have to collect the Six Icons of time, bring them together, and do incantations? She hoped it was fairly straight-forward.

As straight-forward as any clock that might be a legendary time stealing device could be.

||I'm afraid that the main legend doesn't have that information,|| Stacy said. ||I will do my best to find out what can, however.||
