Closing the last document she'd pulled up to read on stone masonry, Sakura sighed. She was pretty sure she had everything in place to start on repairs to the damage she'd caused, even if she wasn't sure there was anyone on ship who had a vested interest in caring. If it felt right to her to help remake what she'd unintentionally made a crater in ( Read more... )

The conversation she had with Zetta triggered Hoshi's curiosity on the exact origins of beyblading. She knew it was a complicated form of beigoma, where the roots were, but how much more was out there to know about her sport that she loved so much?

Well, there was only one thing to do and that was to investigate! And that was what she was doing in the media library, just puttering about.

Seraphiel was perched on one of the shelves, watching his beyblader with interest. It seemed that she was really focused on something, which he found to be nice. Maybe that Phillip human had something to do with it...

"Self-chosen. For my team, I've met each of them on an individual basis, got to know them, and they decided on their own terms to be a part of my team," Hoshi stated, fondly remembering sitting in the rain with Sei, protecting Skye, raising Ami's confidence and trying to get Petra to open up to her.

Sakura took this in, curious at the contrast. "It sounds nice," she said eventually, meaning her words. "More relaxed than other teams I've heard about, sports related or otherwise. How long had you all been together?"

Oh, wow... Hoshi never really put much thought into that. Her team became her second family and it felt like forever since she met them. Well, if she met Sei when she was eleven, Skye when she was twelve, Ami when she was thirteen and Petra came around when she was fourteen...

"Four years altogether. We're just really one big family."

She smiled. "It's a good feeling, having a team family. How long have you been awake on ship? Have any of them been woken up?" Delicate questions, and rude to ask. Still, Sakura wanted to hear if other people had managed to be lucky, even if just for short periods of time.

"It really is. There's never a dull moment, that's for sure," the beyblader replied before putting some thought into just how long she had been awake here. If what she heard from Zouichi was true, then...

"About anywhere from two to four months. Time here is rather weird, so it's hard to calculate an exact time frame of how long I've been here," she admitted before her lips pursed together and a bit of a forlorn glance was in her eyes. She just shook her head to Sakura's last question, directing her eyesight up to the ceiling.

"I'm still waiting for when they wake up here. As far as I know, they're still sleeping in the pod caverns."

God, she really did miss her team...

There was little else Sakura could do than nod. Time here was difficult to keep track of, between the inconsistencies in the false days and nights of the City, to how it seemed no one quite tracked time in the same way on ship anyway. Each planet they'd visited had some other concept of time, which helped when on planet, but not much when breaking most concepts of time apart as it was traveling through the Bleed.

No one relative time to agree on that she'd encountered yet. "I'm sure they are," she said. "How much time it'll take for them to come out, I don't know. But they will."

She had to believe in that for everyone. She had to believe in that for herself.
