Ca-chick! Sure, maybe cameras weren't meant to make that noise. The ones she was used to had been more of a puff of air, a soft click, and then a bright flash of light when the bulb went off. This still had the flash, if it didn't always go, and some option that recorded video. Armed with a new toy she could actually sort-of almost work, Sakura ( Read more... )

Sasami had been busy doing some double-checking of both her restaurant and the old Palace, making sure no one decided to sneak in, when she heard Sakura's poor yelp.

Curiosity got the better of her and she ran over to see what was wrong. "A-Are you okay?"

Sakura had the camera turned around right, pressing buttons again to see if she could undo whatever she'd done to get the delay. "I'm fine! I'm trying to figure out what I did with this, I didn't mean to disturb you." She smiled, looking sheepish (while feeling frustrated with herself).

"Smile?" she said, holding up the camera again. Hopefully she'd turned off the timer, or else this whole picture thing got a lot more exciting and chancy.

"Oh, it's alright! I wanted to make sure that everything was okay, that's all!" Sasami said, nodding. When she offered to take a picture, her smile turned brighter.

"Sure!" she said, offering her a big smile. It had been awhile since she'd taken a picture.

Sakura sighted Sasami in it's back display panel. It felt a little awkward, so a moment later the camera was pressed to her eye, and Sakura was looking through the smaller viewfinder. Once she had the shot, she took it: ca-chink and flash!

"Thank you for asking," she said, glad the delay hadn't happened again this time. "You... you were working on something restaurant related, weren't you? How's that been going?"

Anything outside of wondering about what still remained unsolved.

"It's been... tiresome." Sasami admitted, trying to blink away the little shapes floating in her eyes thanks to the flash. "It's great to give everyone a nice meal, especially in a place like this, but it's... overwhelming."

She nodded, camera lowering to stomach level. "Have you been managing most of it on your own this whole time? Restaurant work is difficult even when you have regular access to supplies, and a full staff for however big your establishment is. How many people can you serve as it is?"

"I have a few people that have helped me, but, for the most part it's just me." Sasami admitted. "Aqua-neesan would kill me if she found that out..."

She let out a brief sigh before continuing. "I've cooked for big groups before, so... right now, I'd say six... seven at most."

Yeah, she's kinda pushing it.

"Have you looked into getting at least one person to help out part-time? Or full-time, if you're opening mostly for dinner." She paused, re-evaluating. "Not that there's any one time for any meal on this ship."

Semantics.

Sasami blinked at what Sakura had mentioned. She'd... never thought of something like that before.

"N-No. Not really." she admitted, blushing a bit.

Sakura smiled, a little amused. "I think it might be a good idea. If nothing else, it makes sure you're not stressed out trying to handle things on your own the whole time. It's good to be able to depend on a small team of people when you want to get things done. Can't be everywhere at once, you know?" If some people on the ship sure seemed like they could be.
