i think i kind of know the feeling. without the whole being so far from home thing. but for some reason i had it in my head that dan would somehow mature. but no. he wants to act like a (2 days from being) 21 year old guy who stays up till all hours of the morning with his friends. he thinks that the 3 hours a day he has brodey (and they're sleeping the whole time) is in some way equivalent to the other 17 hours that i have him. it's frustrating. but then there are the other times that he surprises me beyond belief. and bobby will do that with your baby too. there are times where it'll seem like you ARE doing it alone. (i have those feelings way to often.) but when you hear your baby laughing at some game that he/she and daddy are playing it'll melt your heart and you'll forget how pissed off you were at him. seriously....
i know we don't really talk much at all. but i know how tough it is to be in a completely unfamiliar place.
if you feel like you're wasting time, maybe you should gauge how your time will be spent in both places and where that time will be most valuable. if you feel like you're going to be raising the child primarily by yourself maybe it would be better to be close to friends and family. but you should also consider what opportunities you have in kansas compared to those in texas. or, if you had been pregnant in abilene, if you would have the same insecurities. i know my opinion isn't really valid on this topic since i don't have anywhere near the amount of responsibility that you're going to have, but i know that distance can be a miserable thing to overcome.
ugh. this commment is completely incoherent. and internet advice is so shitty. best of luck, though.
