...because I haven't done so in quite some time. I've been living at my mother's for the past month and it's time to move on. Fortunately I've found a place to go. The area in which I will be living isn't the best of all neighborhoods, but it's definitely not the worst. I don't think there is any reason for anyone to worry about my safety. ( Read more... )

Well, you knew I would be the first one to jump on the bandwagon regarding Syracuse. After living there my entire life with the exception of the last 2 1/2 years, Syracuse is a high recommend! The housing is affordable, it has a larger city/smaller town feel to it, the people are very friendly, there are health food stores, vegetarian
cafes, Armory Square is a great place to dine and shop, it is still realitively safe, you can get on a bus and go anywhere, there are beautiful parks and hiking trails, they're going to add on to Carousel
Mall making it a huge tourist attraction with hotels, shopping and lots of new jobs....My friend Craig is buying up property left and right as are many other investors. Syracuse is like discovering a pearl in an oyster...People just don't realize what a nice place it can be.

Best of luck to you and Rachel on the move. It would be nice if you could stop in more than 5 minutes before closing to chat. When are you moving? Did Rachel find a job yet?

We aren't sure when we will be making the big move. I want to save a nice chunk of emergency money before I go so that I don't feel so stressed. I also want to either fix my car or get a new one. I also want to make sure that the girls I'm moving in with won't be left in the dust if I move out. I'll have to give them a few months notice. I do appreciate the overall friendliness of of the people I've met out there. Rochester definitely doesn't have that.

Not that I would really want to see you move mind you, but sometimes a change of scene can do wonders. You'll either have a new appreciation for Rochester, or wonder why you ever lived here to begin with.

Don't forget to sign my guestbook!
