Naruto doesn't associate many things with 'yesterday'. There is that Beatles song he likes; it sometimes plays in the pubs he goes to, after a hard day at work, where he orders himself a drink, and closes his eyes, content with the world.
After all, at such moments, he knows he's done right.
Otherwise, Naruto lives for today, and for tomorrow. It's the vision of tomorrow that makes him go to the office, and listen to tired, sad and angry men and women talk about their marriage woes.
It’s tomorrow that doesn’t make him feel resigned, and it’s today that makes him try his best to convince the people that giving up is not always the best answer.
That’s what he tells himself.
Although, deep down, he knows yesterday - his own broken heart and his shattered dreams - drive him onwards just as much.
But he doesn’t dwell on it. Yesterday was yesterday, and there is no point being sad about it.
