I really liked this. The way you both dealt with their feelings was very good. I love the realistic approach you gave it ('cause as much as unrequited love sucks, if the other person doesn't retaliate, you can't really force them), and I really loved the ending with Naruto concluding that he can't give Sasuke what he wants from him, but that doesn't mean they have to renounce to the special bond they had. I liked the inclusion of Itachi as well. And all I have to say is: amazing job! This is really a breath of fresh air (even if I'm a helpless shipper xD) from what one usually reads around. Thanks for sharing! =)

The fic I mentioned "Catcher In The Norwegian Wood" was a longish project that focused on Naruto and Sasuke realistically. I don't think it had any planned romance either -- it was a very promising story, but died before it could really hit off :/

Thank you! I think both Sarah and me wanted to write something that didn't always end the expected route, i.e Naruto saying he's in love too, and then SMUT. Not that I have a problem with such stories -- as long as they're well-handled XD. But, imo, it was interesting to explore this path too because you don't always end up with the person you love, no matter how genuine or deep your feelings are.
