Are you familiar with Post Secret? People illustrate a postcard with a secret that they haven't told anyone and mail it to Post Secret. Some of them get posted on the site so that others can read them. (Incidentally, there is also a book which you may have seen on our coffee table ( Read more... )

There was an exhibit here and I, sadly, missed it. I hope they come back to this area. I absolutely adore Post Secret.

Yeah, I wanted to go when it was there too. If I remember correctly, that's where the original exhibit was. I adore it too. Have you gotten the book? It's mostly secrets that have been on the site but there are some that weren't, and it's a neat thing to have because they don't disappear every Sunday. ;) There's a second book in the works too. I adore Post Secret also.

The gentleman who actually started Post Secret lives about 15-20 minutes from where I do - which is infinitely cool!
Yep, the book is owned and cherished... *laughs* I even brought it to therapy with me one day because some of the secrets are so powerful that I wanted to share them with my doc. She's awesome like that.
And yep! The new one hits the presses in what... 8 days, I think?

Now for the real question - have you ever sent in a secret?

That is cool! And it does seem like a good book to take with you to therapy. It's definitely theraputic itself.

I haven't sent in a secret, though I've thought about it. I have secrets that would make good submissions, but there aren't many that I haven't shared with anyone. Maybe someday I'll send one in. Have you?

Reading those can be quite intense... on many levels. It's interesting what removing a layer of identity can do to a subject.

It is. It allows a person to be more candid and direct than they might normally be. At the same time, the fact that there's no person attached to it it becomes anyone's secret. It could be yours or your spouse's or your best friend's or your brother's, or all of theirs.

Yeah, the pictures rarely show up for me also, but there's a link at the top of the feed to the site. I always use that.

hmmm...i'll have to ponder that one. if we hit vf first, we'll prolly just go up 76 and then catch the turnpike when we're done there. not sure if there's much cool stuff in between. let me work on it.

Sure! There's plenty of time between now and whenever it is we decide to go. As I said, I'd like to wait until the weather cools.

And of course Rachel has to come too.
