There's a traffic regulation here that says if a streetcar is stopped and the doors are open, cars coming from behind must stop behind one set of doors or the other. Recently, I was getting on a streetcar and some jackass in a van had blocked the front doors, which really made it awkward for the two dozen or so people getting on and off. It's funny, I was talking to my landlord's girlfriend about it earlier this evening and she said before we moved in people would actually park IN the driveway to go to the hardware store because the regulars figured out that nobody was living there.
Of course, if my landlord sees anyone parking where they aren't supposed to and he goes out to have a little talk with them, they don't do it again. He's a pretty intimidating looking guy. :)
And actually, his girlfriend said she'll talk to him about going to the municipal office and see what they'll do, like put up a sign or paint the curb or something. That would be cool.
