movie day should be more fun than this

I felt crappy today so I stayed home from work. Thanks to On Demand, I got to watch five movies that I'd never seen before.

About Last Night: I always wanted to see this movie when I was a kid just because it was too "mature" for me at the time. It wasn't nearly as naughty as my 12-year-old self thought it was. Just any other romantic comedy, only ( Read more... )

I'll be darned I guess yer right.
(Sorry it's so dark, but you can kinda see my hair. This is one of my favorite pics of myself.)
Side note: The girl to the far left was my best friend in highschool. Her name was Jen. She had a brother 4 years younger than her named Jim. Weird. The other girl is Syril, I had a crush on her the moment I saw her in our induction mass freshman year. We were doing the "sign of peace" thing (ie shaking hands) and I turned around and saw her and totally forgot what I was doing. It was a big fat Kevin Arnold moment. I asked her out once, senior year. She said she didn't want to "ruin our friendship." Oh well.

I know why it's one of your favorite pics of yourself...because it's dark and grainy and half your face is covered.

Yeah, just give Lukas a pair of round wire-rimmed glasses, lighten his hair, and give him a nose job (just the tip) and he's totally High School Will. :)

The movie that you're thinking of with Drew Barrymore is 'Mad Love', also staring Chris O'Donnell. :)

Personally, I think Benny & Joon is much better than Mad Love. *nods wisely*

I always heard T&L was good, but I guess it was so hyped that I wondered if people liked it because of the whole female empowerment thing or because it was actually a good movie. I guess over the years I started to believe the former.

I felt the same way about Thelma and Louise before I saw it and really liked it. The same thing happened with Forrest Gump and . And recently, I was surprised to like Blue Crush. It comes off like a dumb girly movie, but I really liked it! It wasn't an intellectual film by any means, but good solid entertainment.

I've never heard of Blue Crush, but if I ever come across it I'll remember that it isn't just a dumb girly movie. A movie certainly doesn't have to be intellectual to be good, as long as it isn't lowest common denominator crap. ;)
