Haha. You know, we've screwed ourselves up so much in the last century in so many ways that I wonder sometimes if it even matters anymore. We're past the point of no return. There's crap in the soil, the water, and the air that will never go away. That crap gets into the food we eat whether it's "organically grown" or not. It's too widespread. We can't get away from it. We're fucked. Whee.

I might be a little more ok with it if I heard that it was harmless by people who are NOT the ones trying to develop the technology. ;)
Well if they're good scientists that won't make a difference. Still, I would imagine they'll test this before implementing it, and others who are skeptical will probably test it as well.
Electromagnetic fields are already used in a lot of applications. From wikipedia:
