Somewhere during my ficcing life, I decided that elevators in the FF8 world were called "lifts." I think it was part of some attempt to either exoticize the game or make it relatable to international readers somehow - I also exclusively use the metric system - but I just went back through the script and discovered they actually use "elevator" in ( Read more... )

That literally made me laugh out loud with one big "Ha!" That and ("We'll do whatever it takes to get on that elevator." "Oh, I have the keycard right here.")
