Eugene and using a known donor678blueJanuary 3 2009, 02:11:30 UTC
Hi flei,
I am also a bio femme married to a trans man living in Eugene! Too funny. What a small world. And we are hoping to get pregnant sometime in 2009, god willing. There's a couple of factors that are requiring us to wait a bit, but hopefully those will clear up soon.
Anyway, I wanted to echo what some others have said and definitely recommend that you contact the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR). Even tho that's their name, they are huge trans advocates, and have been forever. Their legal director is actually a trans man, who is brilliant: Shannon Minter.
Anyway, they know all about this and can provide you with all the information you need. You can contact them at www.nclrights.org or 415-392-6257.
You definitely want to do your homework and paperwork BEFORE you take any actual action to make sure that you, your husband, and your eventual family are completely protected.
