Congrats. Good to see that this is possible. Have you had any backlash from trans people who think the risks of getting pregnant after a long time of taking testosterone are too great for the child?
Unfortunately, this is a common question with absolutely no basis in medical fact.
I have been asked this same question, and I have scoured the medical journals. There isn't a single published article which suggests that taking T would negatively effect any children born to a post-t trans guy. (Obviously, it is contraindicated during pregnancy, but not before.)
In fact, a whole lot of the fertility industry is based on helping heterosexual with elevated androgen levels conceive - elevated endogamous androgen levels are a common symptom of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which is a major cause of infertility and subfertility.
Finally, a transman who is off T will have androgen levels within the normal female range in most cases. For me personally, my androgen levels are in fact lower than the accepted female range.
congrats to you - but just so you know... "this being an experience now gay couple can truely say they had." this isn't true. there are other gay male couples where one partner (or both) are trans and gave birth. i know of at least one personally.
good luck and keep us posted
