A few people have been asking about the date... I liked the idea of making sure it was around Midsumma, but as the dates for that haven't been set in concrete yet I'm being careful - I don't want to clash with Midsumma events that people want to attend. I've actually emailed Midsumma to ask for a ballpark figure so I can work around it

If you can wait, I would suggest not holding it on the 26th Jan. There's a big trans fest/conference on at Gasworks that weekend as part of Midsumma, and a performance night called GenderMash is on that Saturday night. I guess it would be great to have more than one trans/genderqueer themed event on the same night, but you might end up splitting the crowd...

By the way, I'm in touch with someone who's worked on a couple of sex parties for queeruption in sydney and vancouver -- he said he'd be more than happy to talk to you about issues they had if you want to chat. (He's a cisgendered queer boy, but genderfucked as all get out.)

Excellent, thanks, that's exactly the kind of information I need. The 26th is out :) I want to clash with as few events as possible, but I will seriously go out of my way to avoid clashing with trans events.

And sure, I'd love to hear from your guy. I'm always open to people's thoughts and knowledge :) You can give him my email if you want.
