For the first time, I actually got into all the classes I pre-registered for. Sweet.

And I'm getting sick again, why and how? Hopefully I can get over it over the break.

I'm re-reading parts of Camille Paglia's Sex, Art, and American Culture, for some reason. She's terrible, really. I've struggled with her a lot. Well--I respect her injecting ( Read more... )

But what she really does is just trash other people's intellect and, basically, complain in a readable style while purporting to say something about where art and sexuality need to go.

Exactly. Paglia is problematic for numerous reasons. Which is not to say that she's not interesting to read; or, on the flipside, that she doesn't often invoke a kind of inflammatory reading of her own 'criticism'.

augh lack of caffeine haze. Maybe it was the chapter where she walks around with a drag queen / interviews? I don't remember and I left my copy of Vamps and Tramps at home, I'll definitely check. The whole porn thing = interesting, queer sex, intercourse, alignment = important.
